The South Downs has something for every kind of cyclist to enjoy and explore.As well as the famous South Downs Way to explore there are 1,200 km of car-free bridleways across the National Park, miles of leafy country lanes and old railway trails including the Downs Link, Meon Valley Trail and Centurion Way.The 160km long South Downs Way is the only UK’s National Trail which is fully traversable by bike and there are many ways to enjoy it.

Brighton Beach Bikes is the only bike hire located right on Brighton Beach. Hiring a bike from us means you can ride the coastal cycle path for miles in either direction without crossing any roads, perfect for all the family. We are next to the Brighton Pier at beach level, so very easy to find, just look for the orange and yellow flags.

Travel around Brighton & Hove healthily, sustainably and cheaply using the city’s smart bike share scheme, BTN BikeShare! The fun and easy-to-use public transport scheme is the first in the UK to combine docking stations and dock-less locking technology. Residents and visitors can register, hire and locate the scheme’s ‘Life Bikes’ via the Social Bicycles app. The pay as you go rental plan – ‘Easy Rider’ – costs 3p per minute (min spend £1) and is ideal for occasional riders.
